Im a personal trainer right now, Im 18 years old.l hope that one day l could be an actor and maybe go as far as hollywood, also. How should l get started? should l start performing in plays? l know of a theatre that holds auditions for different plays all year round. This would be my first time actually performing in front of an audience. Can you suggest anything to help me get started?

Actually, getting in plays will make u go far. Get an agent & start an acting resume. Each play u do put it down the the resume (including all of the roles. u can even put backstage/tech on there, too). l got into the movie business this way. it does not take long to get noticed, especially if u already have acting experience.
*TIP* Try going to acting workshops/classes, because casting directors & all of those people u need to audition for, take u A LOT more seriously (because it counts as training on the resume) than someone who just has a couple of plays.
good luck :]

You can get into schools & pay to do the same thing u learn doing local theater.
l do recommend a good acting workshop to learn teh basics, but after a few shows u learn how to theater act. Board & over the top, Film acting requires a lot less action & more eye ball acting
Tv, film, commercials & theater all require different timing.
But theater is how l started & l book movies all the time 21 years of theater & 12 of film & tv
