I am trying out for our school play and I've never tried out before, is there anything that could make my audition go better? Any tips you may have are much appreciated.

Just read your lines LOUD, enunciate so they can understand u clearly, and say each line like how you would in real life. unless they ask u 2 b ovr dramatic, then get crazy! dont be afraid 2 get goofy cuz theyre not gonna laugh at you. chances r theyll like your enthusiasm. dont b nervous, the wrst they can do is say no (which really isnt evn that bad lol)

l tried out for a play as well and took a theater class. first you need to make sure that everyone in the back can hear you. read your lines loud and over enunciate on your words so people can understand you clearly and it doesnt sound like mumbling. confidence in yourself is also important because if you are nervous chances are, something will go wrong and look at the audience (whether there is one or not at the auditions) just relax and do your best. good luck to you

depends on your personality and stuff. Ummm if you're not the ''popular'' person, or if you do not have the confidence, bring your IPod and listen to it so people wo not psyche you out. Go over the lines and be that character and think ''how can l make this character believable to the employers (teacher/ director/etc) and how can l make myself look like l can sell out the theater.
good luck!!!

Confidence, confidence, confidence!!! Even if u mess up a line, KEEP GOING! Prove to ur director(s) that u r the absolute best for the role; if u believe it (or look like u believe it) they will believe it. If you're not feeling very confident.FAKE IT! After all, that is what acting is all about :) Above all, try not to get too nervous. l know it is hard (I've tried out for lots of plays & still get the jitters when l am in front of people) but u should not let others' performances dictate ur own.
Let is see.what else? Oh, be sure to bring a water bottle if that is allowed. A dry mouth is the worst thing to have during an audition. & remember to be as loud as possible without overdoing it. If u feel like you're yelling, tone it down a bit, but not too much! Project ur voice as much as possible while still remaining in character.
Hope this helps, & good luck!

Most important thing: Be Memorized. I've been in about 7 school plays, and my worst auditions were when l was stumbling over what l had to say.
Be bright and personable. Or be yourself. Your director has to work with you during the production, so show them that you can fulfill whatever visions they have.

be believeable. sounds simple enough, but so many theatre actors get this ''actor voice'' when they read lines, and it is not believeable.
always put a little bit of yourself into the role -- that is advice straight from Broadway star Laura Bell Bundy (hairspray, wicked, & legally blonde) l took a workshop she taught over the summer, and she had wonderful tips.
